Edmonton
and Central Northwest Area
Edmonton,
the capital city of Alberta is a bustling city of ¾
million people. It is called by many nick names-The City of
Champions , the Festival City and is famous because it is
home to West Edmonton Mall, one of the largest Retail and
Entertainment complexes in North America.

Recreation
and Edmonton are one and the same. The NHL Edmonton Oilers,
The Eskimos of the CFL and The Trappers of the PCL keep Northern
Albertans involved with sports. There are over 70 Golf courses
within a 1 hours drive.

The
North Saskatchewan River boasts the Edmonton Queen, a true
adventure.
North
and West of the city are many lakes: Lake Isle,
Lake Wabamun, Lac St Anne and Hubble Lake to name a few. Renowned
beaches surround these lakes such as Alberta Beach, Silver
Sands and Seba Beach.
Spruce
Grove, only 11 kms west from Edmonton is a very
friendly community, with many events planned throughout the
year. If you are in the area, you can hike over 24.5 kms of
trails. You will discover some of Alberta's best scenery.
No visit is complete without a stop at the Trans Alta Leisure
Centre, a multi use recreational leisure centre, or another
must see is the Horizon Stage Centre for the Performing Arts,
home to many outstanding live performances.
A
few kilometers further west is the city of Stony Plain famous
for their 21 Life Size murals around the community. Allow
some time to visit the Oppertshauser House and the Multicultural
centre. This area of North central Alberta welcomes all visitors
to come for a day, and stay and visit for as long as you want.
