April 12th 2006

Happy Easter to Everyone.

Dear Fellow Recreational Property Owners

Great Cottages is pleased to introduce a number of NEW features to our web site. We are excited and confident that these changes and improvements will be a Win Win for all of us. Please continue to send us  your ideas and suggestions. info@greatcottages.com

First, you will see an Updated front page with a Larger Button-View All Rental Properties-ENTER with direct linking to the Provinces. The larger buttons are for those of our visitors who require larger type , and who commented they wanted larger Icons.

Secondly, we are testing a new feature-Moving Tour Pictures, showing lakes/ locations and tour numbers. This feature will be tested for 60 days. We will then contact the owners whose properties are currently shown. If the concept works, we will make it available to any owner who wants to list their property for 30 days. The cost will be $ 35.00. It will be available 2 times per year per owner, at different times, so that everyone who wants to showcase their property can do so.

Thirdly-The week end of April 7, 8th and 9th, Great Cottages participated In the first ever Rural Routes-a trade show put on by the Calgary Stampede and Travel Alberta. We showcased all properties to an audience estimated to be over 6,500 visitors over 3 days. Our hits to the site were up over 30 % the days following the show. We handed out over a thousand business cards. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Fourth-Back to the site…we are now linked to a number of new services for both our owners and our guests. On the Canada map page, we have a link to Large Canadian Roadside attractions and to the Government of Canada for Transport Canada Boat License information.

Fifth-On the geographical pages for each region, we have added pictures and tour links. Check this out.

Sixth-Press releases were sent out Monday April 10th to BC Tourism, Travel Alberta and Tourism Canada announcing the fact of our new site look.

Seventh-We have added an additional 35 International links in the past 3 weeks. Last year, we had site visitors looking for western Canadian vacation experiences from all across Canada, 27 USA states and 61 countries. Our viewer traffic continues to grow.

Eighth-We have added a second map for the Kootenay region as there are a number of properties spread over a large area. We know this will help visitors to our site and help tourists when they visit your areas.

Ninth-a new feature starting in late April will be a BLOG from a service Cottagemanonline.com  You will be able to email your questions to the BLOG and they will be answered within 24-48 hours. This will help owners with some new ideas and provide answers to questions pertinent to owning recreational rental properties. They promise it be current, topical, fun and relevant.

Tenth-Great Golfing Courses.com is a new Golf Course listing service for any Golf Courses in western Canada. Please tell your local pro or club manager to check this new Golfing Course Registry and have a chance to WIN a round golf for 2…FREE.

Donna and I thank you for your continued support. Our goal is to make Great Cottages the number one site that people check out when they are seeking a holiday in western Canada.
